i'm glad we're put thing space to use. i love we're going to see exciting changes at the park and be able to see that transform and see this space actually utilized by the businesses that want to stay in san francisco. so, i think this is a l really a wonderful project to see going forward. so, i will be supporting this item. in terms of the $58 million, i am a little bit weary about that number. and i guess i don't have very much to be weary about yet, but i'm hoping when it does come back yet with the lease approval we will have title numbers and be sure we've done our due diligence on it. at the same time, if it is that number, it sounds like a very good deal to move forward just because we're going to be able to put that space into use, something we're not able to do at the moment. and, so, i would be very happy to support that item. so, do we have a motion to accept the recommended changes that the budget analyst suggested and was read into the record and then to send the item forward with recommendation as amended? o

we saw what it would mean to us. brings to us the nba. i think many of us are very excited about that. it brings to us a convention but also entertainment venue that san francisco just does not have at this moment. i think that would be something that is incredibly wonderful for the city and brings a lot of construction and post construction jobs i think is very valuable to people who live and work here. so that being said i know we will have a lot of work on the due diligence component in terms of actually fiscal feasibility component. i think in terms of what is required under the admin code we have met that and looked at benefits and shown we have one-time financial benefits close to 54 million. we have on going benefits between 9 to 19 million for this project. there are also a ton of theser indirect financial benefits that may come from this, in addition the fact that 120 million or more. we i guess estimate 1 billion will go into construction costs from the private sector with the city only on the hook to reimburse up to 120 million

it goes without saying that all of us in this city and certainly all of us in this room have been thrilled to see the giants win a second championship in the course of 24 months. there is much to celebrate. unfortunately, a number of individuals used that celebration as an excuse to engage in activity that ultimately is simply reprehensible and unacceptable. we had a number of events that happened in the mission and specifically on mission street. we had a number of trash bins that were set on fire, and we had following the victory many businesses that were covered with graffiti along the mission street corridor between 16th and 24th streets. i had the displeasure of having to survey the damage that was left that next morning, and i can tell you that it is really upsetting and frustrating and angering, actually, to see so many businesses tagged for no reason. i spoke to many of the property owners and many of them are small businesses that are already struggling in this economy and that they have to deal with the aftermath of something like that is simply unacceptable. i want to take this
